“We could not do the work we do at the Heart of Scotstoun without the help of our friends in the community”
There are two main ways you can help us make a change: through volunteering and donations.
Volunteering:
Volunteering at Heart of Scotstoun can make a significant difference in the lives of the community. We offer some fantastic opportunities such as work experience, in the key areas of gardening, kitchen, centre work, reception and Food Store.
In October 2024 we launched our ‘Volunteer Training Initiative,’ which is a six week training internship that aims to provide key work experience and skills. Volunteers from the age of 16 can choose two areas to gain knowledge in, and will complete a project within that time which matches their ability and interests. Once the six weeks are complete they will be able to add Heart of Scotstoun on their CV and gain a reference for future job opportunities. The Initiative aims to provide not only practical experience, but also the ability to benefit the community.

Donations:
We have the opportunity to provide food and supplies to individuals and families who perhaps are needing some extra help, and we are always in need for donations of long-life food, toiletries and giftables for those who come through our doors asking for help. We also have various craft for sale which has been made by our groups, for which all proceeds go to the running of the centre.
